Dutch Babies

I made a Dutch Baby (man, the name is silly) pancake for brunch today using this recipe: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/dutch-babies-ii/

I don't have a 10" skilet so I made it in a 9.5" Pyrex pie pan. I used an electric hand mixer instead of a whisk, and I didn't sift the flour because I have no sifter (or even strainer, sigh. This is not a well-equipped kitchen.) I added a splash of vanilla extract and some sugar to the batter.
It came out looking like this:

This is a repository for [mostly vegetarian] recipes that I've used, along with my notes and records, so that I can keep track of what I do and find ways to improve the results. It's also a way to motivate myself to cook and bake more, and a way to have an answer when people ask "so what do you like making?"

If I'm modifying someone else's recipe, I try to include a link to it. Some of the recipes are things I've made up. Most of those are written as narratives because hey, this is mostly for me.

I have no illusions: while I can do glamorous, food-wise and writing-wise, this blog isn't about glamorous. It's about function and utility.
